Miami Dade’s older adult population is growing like never before, and the quality of life of older adults is greatly affected by local policies, programs and neighborhood environments. The Miami-Dade Age-Friendly Initiative is focused on helping local governments, sector leaders, and advocates improve our community, so that it supports a high quality of life for all ages and abilities. A series of three workshops are being held on September 7, 21, and 28, 2016 and each focused on a priority area including Parks & Outdoor Spaces, Housing, and Transportation, respectively. These workshops will provide tools and information to assist leaders in identifying and implementing age-friendly strategies at the local level.
