Stakeholder Advisory Committee Meeting

This meeting will focus on one of the top priorities identified by older adult residents in the 2024 Age-Friendly Assessment: improving access to affordable, accessible transportation. Transportation affects nearly every aspect of daily life—impacting how people access food, housing, healthcare, and community spaces. Together, we’ll explore the challenges and opportunities for action as we work to build a more age-friendly Miami-Dade County.

Age-Friendly Sharing Symposium

On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Miami-Dade Age-Friendly Initiative (AFI) hosted the Age-Friendly Sharing Symposium, featuring the City of Miami’s EMPOWER60 Program and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. This annual celebration brought together hundreds of older adults, elder advocates, and community members from across Florida to honor the many contributions of Florida seniors.

AFI was proud to help kick-start the EMPOWER60 program through an Age-Friendly Mini-Grant and to showcase the initiative’s ongoing work during the symposium.

2021 Senior Summit

We were honored to be included in the program and to have had the opportunity to highlight the work of the Miami-Dade Age-Friendly Initiative.
