Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Announces 2017 Golden Ticket Guide for Seniors


THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES THE 2017 GOLDEN TICKET ARTS GUIDE FOR SENIORS

This year’s Guide offers free tickets to cultural events for senior citizens. MIAMI, November 1, 2016 — The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs announces the release of the 2017 Golden Ticket Arts Guide, a catalog of free cultural events and activities for senior citizens in Miami-Dade County. Printed in English and Spanish, the Golden Ticket Arts Guide connects seniors with free cultural events presented by Miami-Dade County’s finest cultural organizations.

The guide includes free admission to major cultural festivals, such as the Miami Book Fair International and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, as well as admission to museums and gardens on specific days, such as Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the Pérez Art Museum Miami and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

The Golden Ticket Arts Guide is age-friendly, featuring large type calendar listings with detailed event descriptions. The guide is available to seniors who must be at least 62 years of age and are Miami-Dade County residents.

“Our free Golden Ticket Arts Guide offers extraordinary cultural opportunities to our most honored citizens, our seniors,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “I believe that all older adults in Miami-Dade County should be able to enjoy the highest quality of life possible and that includes access to our world-class arts and cultural institutions.”

The Golden Ticket Arts Guide may be requested by calling (305) 499-8755. Copies of the Guide are available through the Miami-Dade County Office of the Mayor and Commissioners’ offices, the Miami-Dade County Public Library System and through a network of senior centers. The Guide is also available online now at www.miamidadearts.org where seniors can find an event and print out a ticket.
