Older Adult Driving Safety: An Overview – March 7

Under a cooperative agreement with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) has just published the Clinician’s Guide to Assessing and Counseling Older Drivers, a free online guide that walks clinicians through key issues, opportunities, and challenges faced by older drivers and the healthcare professionals who care for them. As a companion to the Guide, the AGS is also offering live webinars to provide guidance to clinicians who treat older drivers.

The first webinar, Older Adult Driving Safety: An Overview will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm Eastern Standard Time

This webinar is presented by two members of the Editorial Board that developed the Guide, Alice Pomidor, MD, MPH and Elin Schold-Davis, OTR/L, CDRS. The webinar will cover the relevance of older adult driving to one’s individual clinical practice, and provide real-time examples of how to use evidence-based clinical screening tools to carry out an assessment and plan for older adult driver safety.

Participants can earn 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits.
